VIVA's 1-Year Program for Middle School Students
Program Details
- Target Audience: Middle Schools
- Program Duration: 1-year program
- Training: School teachers are trained in a 2-day interactive workshop by VIVA
- Teaching Material: Two sets of kits (in Hindi/ English as needed) are provided free of cost to enrolled schools.
Curriculum Framework: 16 modules; 1 hour each (weekly in the school year)

- School Types: CBSE Affiliated Private Schools, Government Schools , e.g. Kendriya Vidyalayas, Boarding Schools, e.g. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Defence Schools (Navy Children School, Army Public School, Air Force School)
Post-training Support: Continuous Support is provided by VIVA to handhold the teachers for the successful implementation of the modules at the All India Level.
Vision
Swami Vivekananda’s idea that “Education should focus on the human mind and help people develop their character and stand on their own,” has been the cornerstone of development of VIVA’s educational programs. It is only through awakening intrinsic values lying dormant within students can they be developed into Awakened Citizens.
Foundation Citizen Program is a one-year structured program for middle schools aiming to awaken these intrinsic values within them and help develop the students into an awakened citizen personality.
A well-designed training is imparted to the teachers through a Facilitator Development Program that equips them to conduct the sessions using the approach of self discovery. This encourages maximum participation, as there are no right/wrong answers thereby strengthening their confidence level.
The foundation of this program is Atmashraddha (Self Belief) and how one can strengthen it. With a strong sense of Self Belief, various possibilities open up in the lives of the students. Our role along with designated teachers is to create a conducive environment for peer to peer learning, and personal discovery of these inner possibilities. Through the Awakening Practices well integrated into the program, the wide range of inner possibilities of the students can shine forth.
