The program

AACT provides a platform where young people all over the nation get an opportunity to interact with mentors and peers, so that they can discover their potential by diving deep into themselves to remove the barriers that may be preventing them from realizing their full potential. This can, in turn, equip them to lead a more fulfilling and productive life. These interactions serve as a catalyst to convert thought into constructive action.

Purpose

AACT is a platform for ACP graduates to transform the ‘I can’ attitude into a spirit of service that can lead to community transformation. We focus on building self-awareness and self-belief among students to empower them to serve.

Approach

AACT includes regular virtual and in-person interactions on practical approaches to handle the challenges of life. We also provide support from highly-qualified mentors and peer group for self-development. AACT students can participate in social impact projects that lead to community transformation.

The story so far

AACT was launched on January 12th 2022, Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, which is commemorated as the National Youth Day in India. Between January and June 2022, five webinars were conducted on various topics, to awaken the spirit of service. In July 2022, AACT students were invited to the Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi to visit the Swami Vivekananda Museum and for in-person interactions. Subsequently, students were offered an opportunity to volunteer for an initiative to teach children from underprivileged backgrounds.

The way forward

AACT will engage with at least 100 schools across the nation in the next academic year (2023-24) and continue to engage ACP graduates in a structured manner through community service activities.
